{"id":13918,"date":"2014-09-17T00:42:11","date_gmt":"2014-09-17T04:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sweetbeadstudio.com\/?p=13918"},"modified":"2016-03-29T14:31:27","modified_gmt":"2016-03-29T18:31:27","slug":"13918","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sweetbead.mysticcomputing.com\/?p=13918","title":{"rendered":"The Unexpected Findings Book Blog Tour stops here!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Welcome to Day 3 of the Unexpected Findings Book Blog Tour!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am so excited to be celebrating the release of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michellemach.com\/blog\/\">Michelle Mach&#8217;<\/a>s brand new book, <em>\u00a0 <\/em>Michelle hits it out of the jewelry design park with this jam-packed book. \u00a0She takes an in-depth look at the hardworking components that we need and use in our designs: everyday findings. \u00a0What I find so inspiring \u00a0is that together with her book contributors, Michelle puts a whole NEW twist on those findings.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle grabs the reader right from the Introduction page with this question &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;Beads are the stars on the jewelry stage. \u00a0They&#8217;re the ones twirling, singing and shouting while the findings scuttle backstage, working the lights and opening and closing the red velvet curtains. \u00a0Ever wonder what would happen if their roles were reversed?&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why yes! \u00a0We could all use a fresh outlook, a little inspiration. \u00a0As jewelry designers, we tend to keep a good stash of essential findings on hand. \u00a0I found it fascinating to turn page after page of the book and see how Michelle and her contributors used findings in all-new ways (and are there ever such beautiful designs!). \u00a0 \u00a0I&#8217;m thankful to Michelle for presenting this challenge to me as one of the contributors to <em>Unexpected Finding<\/em>s.<\/p>\n<p>Some of my favorite features you&#8217;ll find in\u00a0<em>Unexpected Findings<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A comprehensive description of jewelry findings\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0A thorough description is provided as well as lots of photos. \u00a0You&#8217;ll learn about findings you never even heard of \u00a0before. \u00a0I worked with one unfamiliar component in one of my projects &#8211;
